Confessing infidelity saves marriages, study concludes

Contrary to what many believe, infidelity does not have to be the end of marital relationships, as a recent study found out that confessing an affair might actually save marriage.

A five-year study conducted by researchers from UCLA and the University of Washington involving 134 couples revealed 80% of discovered infidelity led to divorce. Meanwhile, only 43% of couples who had admitted infidelity were divorced. The researchers noted that a satisfying marital relationship is still possible and more likely to continue if infidelity is confessed rather than discovered.
